It’s that magical time of year again, the time when there’s a frenzy at the supermarket counter over the last bag of rice. Yes ladies and gentlemen, it’s Chuseok, and that means one thing, a 4 day weekend. For those of us who can’t afford to take ourselves on a luxury mini break there is still plenty to do in Seoul. If you aren’t cooking up a storm with your new spam gift set you’ll need to eat out and so here are a few of my favourites restaurants and their opening times.
Linus’ Bama Style BBQ – The American BBQ king will be feeding the masses (literally) each and every day. Saturday and Sunday they will take a break between 3-5pm Monday and Tuesday no breaks, so put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Block Party – The little restaurant up on the hill will be open everyday from 5pm and on Sunday they are offering a 30,000 set menu which includes an appetizer, main dish, and dessert.
Hidden cellar – Open from 2pm on weekends and 6pm weekdays. Roll up and grab a couple of drinks from the self service bar (they have everything) and one of their super tasty lamb sandwiches!
Closed Sunday Only
Lobster Bar – Chuseok is a time to celebrate and there is no finer way to do it than by eating lobster!
Volstead – Cocktails and Mexican what else do you need? (drinks only on Monday though).
Closed Monday Only
Little Baja – Seoul’s favourite fish taco joint has just moved to bigger premises on top of the hill at Itaewon-dong #549, 1st floor. So be sure to go and give them a warm and friendly welcome.
Left Coast – Gourmet burgers galore and a whole host of deep fried goodies.
Brera – Probably the city’s favourite Italian restaurant, don’t miss out on their handmade pasta, gnocchi and pizza.
Closed Sunday & Monday
Vatos – Still my favourite mexican it’s the liveliest place in town to grab a margarita and a couple dozen tacos.
Manimal – Brisket, pulled pork, and the juiciest chicken I’ve ever had at this American style BBQ joint.
Beastro – American classics like you’ve never had them before, the fried chicken and buffalo macaroni shouldn’t be missed.
Libertine – New York comes to Seoul, one of my favourite places to brunch.
Bulldogs British bar and pub, fab food and the only place in town selling Pimm’s!
For the lazy louts who are planing to spend the whole weekend in bed both of my favourite food delivery services will be operating over the holidays..
Y-Not delivery will be delivering each and every day. Take out for everyone!
Bird Riders delivery will be closed during Sunday lunchtime and all day Monday.
