Another day, another swanky event on my calendar. This time it’s the annual St Andrews Ball. A spectacular soiree dedicated to all things Scottish. This years ball will be held on November 26th at the Grand Hyatt hotel. The event starts at 7pm with a champagne reception then moves on to a fabulous five course Scottish dinner including haggis! All night long the booze will be flowing freely as you ticket includes as much drink as you can take. The exact menu isn’t finalised but expect to enjoy Gavin’s sausages, Macallan whiskey, and Bagend Wine.

After the eating, there will a Quaich ceremony and then Scottish dancing all the way through to 4am. For those who are lacking somewhat in their dancing skills there will be practices every Wednesday evening at the British embassy from now until the week before the ball.

For those who have the stamina to go all night there will be a survivors breakfast served at 4am, which is imperative after a hardy night of drinking and dancing.  So dust off your kilt, or pick out your best dress, it’s time to get this party started.

Tickets are currently priced at 150,000 per person until October 12th, or a table of 10 costs a cool 1,500,000. For more information or to purchase your ticket you can contact them via their website. However as tickets are almost sold out, so you’ll need to be quick. Though if you miss out this time there is always the Burn’s Night Party in February.
